The Grand Lodge of Ireland was established in 1725, and is the supreme Masonic authority in both North and South Ireland.
The Government of the Fraternity is placed in the hands of the Grand Lodge, which is composed of the Grand Master, the Grand Officers, the Past Grand Officers, the Provincial Grand Officers, the Acting Master and Wardens of the Grand Master's Lodge, Master and Wardens of every Irish Lodge, as well as every registered Past Master in the Constitution.
Its officers are elected or re-elected every year. The Grand Lodge has delegated certain powers to its Provincial Grand Lodges for more efficient administration of the Order, and these Provincial Grand Lodges govern all the individual Lodges within their given geographical areas.
